~ Antique Cow Oil Paintings ~

Hello, I hope you all had a good weekend and also a good day shopping the flea markets or garage sales and tag sales. It was a hot one today and now I am rushing to put this post up today before I go to work. I'm going to join on on the fun for ~Vintage Thingie Thursday~ hosted by Suzanne over at ~ Colorado Lady ~ We picked up these two oil paintings of cows they are on canvas and are most likely from 1880-1910 if not earlier. They might be European but not quite sure. As some of you might know we collect animal oil paintings. On some of the older post still have them on display.
I like these cows just relaxing on the cool green grass while the others are drinking water.





But this is my favorite of the two because it show the cliffs near the ocean and the Herder herding the cows back to the barn. We had found the two of them at an estate sale in Redlands Ca. my hometown. I do hope you enjoy the painting's and please visit the other participant's.     Two very wonderful paintings. I like cow paintings as well -- but alas, there are non on Linderhof's walls!

    Those are beautiful! The last one looks like the English coastline. It's one of those paintings that just takes you away!

    You truly have a very beatiful collection of paiting Julian! I like cows...I've always dreamed to have a cow...bu in the city centre of my town...I don't think it's possible!!!

    Happy Wednesday to you! I have to say I am sucker for animal oil paintings too. I have one of rabbits and a few of roosters, but I would love a cow one too. I just love the rustic French look and the cows paintings you have are just perfect. I am sure they are treasured by you. They are just lovely.
    I have to tell you I just LOVE the picture of Missy, Tallulah, and the Little One. It is just priceless. How did they all stay so still for that picture??? I can't get my two to perform :)

    I love when you drive up north up PCH and can see all the cows! They make me happy. :)

    I do love those paintings! I used to raise cattle, and there was nothing more peaceful than seeing the herd out chewing their cud in the field. Thanks for bringing back a wonderful memory.
